REMINDER!

3rd Grade Newsletter,

Please make sure your children are bringing their recorders to MUSIC! Children also need to practice at home to keep up with the rest of the class. Failure to do so could result in a lower grade. Please help support our budding instrumentalists!

IMPORTANT DATES:

Our Spring Concert ~ presented by the Fifth Grade Chorus and the  Fourth and Fifth Band will be TBD.

We kicked off a great 2011-2012 season with sign-ups for the Fourth and Fifth Grade Bands, the Fifth Grade Chamber Choir and the Fourth Grade Bells.  YES, we have our Bells back!
Participation in our performing groups is at an all-time high.

Some dates to keep in mind:

Our Spring Concerts is scheduled for sometime in May. This concert will be presented by the Fifth Grade Chorus and the Fourth & Fifth Grade Band.  The Bell Choir and the Chamber Choir will also perform on the concert.  Additionally, some students will be invited to speak at the concert.  If your child is involved, please make every effort to arrange for your child to participate in the evening concert.  The evening concert is scheduled for 7:30 pm, but students should arrive at 7:00 to report to the gym for attendance.

Concert dress for all concerts is black and white --
white on the top (shirt, blouse, sweater) and black on the bottom (pants, slacks, skirts).  Even if you do not have a child performing in the concert this year, please consider attending!  It is shaping up to be a very festive event.

Sometime in January we are anticipating a school presentation from a group called Mixed Company, one of Yale's many a cappella singing groups. They are a co-ed, entirely undergraduate group, directed and managed by their own members.  Their repertoire includes pop-rock to soul to oldies.  This should be a great concert.  For more information, you can visit their website at www.mixedco.net.  Many thanks to Danette Melchionne for making this possible!

We're looking forward to a great year at KTM!

Sincerely,
Mr. Salamone, Mr. Sinaguglia & Ms. Falcetta

Hi Fifth Grade Parents!

News
Hi Fifth-Grade Parents!

Here are the song words to the upcoming Spring Concert. All students should have received a hard copy of the song words by January 20th, but if they should lose them, please click on the link below.  This year's theme is going to be the musical, "Mary Poppins," which the students studied in Music classes last year.  We will also pay tribute to the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with some patriotic songs.
