GE's Homework Help Program is a tutorial-based after school program supporting students in grades 4 and 5 with their classroom assignments. In this program, students who are having trouble with homework in a specific subject or who need extra motivation or better organizational skills, meet weekly with a dedicated GE employee. This individualized attention allows students to catch up on any missed skills while offering an opportunity for instructors to teach students how to approach their assignments in an organized and informed manner, one that will provide them with the skills and habits necessary to arrive at school with homework that's complete, correct and ready to be turned in.
Students will also receive instruction aimed at CMT standards. With materials generously provided by GE, tutors will help alleviate test anxiety by providing confidence through multiple practice tests and different sets of strategies.
During this CMT preparation, the one-to-one guidance will allow the tutor to readily identify any problem area a student may have and to focus on that area.
The following skills may be reinforced during the tutor session:
Homework Help students are responsible for bringing all required textbooks and materials needed to properly complete their classroom assignments.
Transportation is provided for current bus riders.
