In an effort to give students a real hands-on math experience, we are continuing our partnership with First County Bank in Stamford. Your child can either begin a new savings program of his/her own here at school, or continue an existing student account, previously set up through K.T. Murphy. First County Bank has generously waived all fees for opening these accounts, so there is no cost to you. Students will be able to deposit money on each of the following banking dates (see below). A minimum deposit of $1.00 is required. Ms. Dorita Brown, or another bank representative will be at school on the dates listed, so that students may make their deposits. The deposit should be sent to school in a sealed envelope which has been properly labeled. Receipts will be given for all cash deposits. Note: Permission forms must be renewed each year. Even if your child already has an account number or passbook, you must renew your permission form to continue to participate in the program. If your child does not have a First County account and you would like him/her to participate in this banking program, please contact our office staff for the required forms. (Please also note that students must have a Social Security number to open an account.) We are very excited about this savings program, and hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to teach your child the importance of saving money for the future.
